National Security Adviser John Bolton disassembled the national pandemic response team, causing Rear Adm. Timothy Ziemer from the NSC to resign with no replacement in senior administration. Ziemer’s last day was May 8, 2018, the same day that a new Congolese Ebola outbreak was announced.
